I am an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) with over 15 years of experience working with children and their families in settings that include: home, schools and counseling centers. This has given me the opportunity to accompany children through many life situations, helping them to cope, develop new understanding and confidence both individually and in groups. My focus is in tune to each child and varies from improving their social skills, coping skills, anger management, grief, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

My time as a school-based counselor was very rewarding. Counseling at risk children and adolescents with emotional disturbances required being creative, consistent and a good listener to bring the best possible support and solutions for those children’s needs.

I’ve worked directly with parents as well, notably in international adoption where I guided couples through the ups and downs of the adoption journey, offering support throughout the process as well as upon homecoming to ensure a happy family union.

Over the years, I found that one of the best methods for helping children and adolescents is to engage their creativity and imagination, using it to solve anything from growing pains to serious problems. I enjoy being a positive role model in the lives of children and youth. My ultimate goal is to provide the space and tools to inspire them to help brighten the future and to make the world a better place.

I earned my undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree at San Diego State University in Child and Family Development and a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Southern California. I have a certificate in Creative Arts Therapy from The New School in New York.

In addition to my work with families and children, I am always seeking ways to enhance my own personal growth and development. In creating art I find meaning and harmony. I love photography, collage, crafts, painting and beadwork. Over the past ten years I have also studied and practiced various types of meditation, tai-chi, yoga and relaxation techniques. I am fluent in French and proficient in Spanish and conversational Italian.
